Hospice Experiences
"I'm so thankful for your support over the last few months as Dad declined and then passed away. Without your support and dedication to making him as comfortable as possible, his quality of life would have been zero and we wouldn't have been able to grant his wish to remain at home. We couldn't have done our job without you. Thank you for everything."
"We were very happy with the care my mother received. She seemed as comfortable as possible during her last days of her life. It made the situation easier on our family. The medication seemed to help quite a bit and the nurses knew exactly how much to give her. I would recommend hospice's services to anyone in need of it. Thank you."
"Thank you so much for everything you've done to make this very difficult time easier for all of us. The special people, the extra time, the volunteers and the beautiful flowers were all very much appreciated. You are all very special people and we will remember you always!"
"I can't describe the enormous amount of compassion and caring every single member of the Hospice team had. They had great patience with me; explained and thoroughly answered ANY/ALL questions I had; treated my family members input and feeling into account and with great respect. My Mother and Father both had end-of-life Hospice care which makes DeKalb County Hospice the third hospice I've had personal dealings with and although the other two were adequate, DeKalb County Hospice was far beyond the others that I would not even try to make any kind of comparison. I mean that with all my heart. Even my "middle of the night" anxious calls were returned promptly and the nurse always offered to come here and made sure that I was ok and had a firm handle on the situation before we hung up. Most of the time there was a follow up call later on; Saturday and Sunday visits were made if the nurse felt it was best, even when I told them not to worry about it. We NEVER felt/sensed that we were a "bother" or a burden, or anything like that, even at night. You guys were our Angels, and I, as well as the rest of the family, will be forever grateful for helping our loved one as well as the rest of us make it through this very hard journey."
"Our dear hospice volunteer was a gem - there at just the right time. The words spoken to me at the visitation helped me so much, giving me the reassurance that Mom did receive all she needed and that I did all that I possibly could and therefore, met my goals for Mom to have physical, emotional and spiritual comfort."
"Your care on the day Mom died was so sweet. Thank you for your loving hug, your concern and care. God Bless you all as you serve in such a special way at such a special time. You are God's angels on earth."
