Baking Up Nice Surprises
B.U.N.S.

B.U.N.S. is an event that is made completely possible by hospice volunteers. Three times a year white gift bags (decorated by a volunteer) filled with goodies (made by volunteers) are delivered (by volunteers) to our patients and newly bereaved families. The delivery routes are put together by a volunteer, phone calls are made by volunteers and the bags are packed by volunteers. These bags are so appreciated by their recipients.

Would you consider helping us?  If you’d like to bake or make some kind of goody or help with the delivery of the bags, please contact Val Heintz, Volunteer Coordinator, at 815-756-3000.

B.U.N.S. Testimonies:
“Thank you for your generous bag of home made goodies that we received—All the bakers must have been so busy.  What a nice variety.  We appreciate your kindness and thoughtfulness.”

“Thank you so much for the treat bag! What a delight!”

“Thank you for remembering me with the goodies.”

“I was overwhelmed and overjoyed at the abundant bag of homemade treats! “Thank you” seems so inadequate. My mother would have loved the fudge, and I smiled as I savored it. I appreciate your thoughtful gesture.”

“Thank you kindly for the huge package of wonderful cookies, goodies, apples, oranges – various things. It left me overwhelmed, astonished, with happy tears. I cried after the lady left our home.”

“Thank you to all who made the nice homemade goodies.  What a surprise! So very thoughtful of you.”

“Thank you for the bag of “delicious cookies” you delivered to me recently.”

“Thank you so very much for your thoughtfulness. The large bag of goodies brought to me last week were oh so good. I sure appreciated it.”
